I needed to prepare an image that described Colfax California to be used as possible banner. The town's main street is a most interesting display of various styles of store fronts common in the gold rush and early California era. And the town was an important hub for the narrow gauge railroad and packing sheds for local fruit in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Now this stopping point for the railroad is great for traveling west toward San Francisco and east toward Reno and beyond.
